This film strikes a balance by fusing together documentary and fictional film footage to create the reality of the salmon industry in a small Alaskan town.

The film shows the workings of a salmon packing plant, but animal performers in this picture were not harmed. Some real life commercial fishing activities were included and were conducted in accordance with the standards and regulations applicable to the Alaskan fishing industry.
