Waiting for the Light
is a comedy set in the early l960's against the melodrama of
the Cuban missile crisis. An ex-vaudevillian in failing health
inherits a run down diner in a small town. She decides to
leave Chicago with her niece and children and make a fresh
start. Through some magic tricks, she causes the
unsophisticated townsfolk to believe they've witnessed a
miracle, and maybe they have.
White doves are a
part of the magic act and help to create the illusion of a
miracle. Trained doves were used and all action was simple. A
goat, snake and geese are also seen briefly.
