Take one part classic William Shakespeare, one part rewrite, place your tongue firmly inside your cheek and suddenly find that Macbeth is an ambitious woman, Lady Macbeth her lesbian lover, the three witches are gay men aka queens and speaking in verse is only an occasional affectation. This new wave of reinterpretation doesn’t really change the plot it just spins it into a world of non-gender specific vegan villains, mint julep swigging murderers and slightly off kilter kilts.

The only animal action in the film is a scene where battle preparations are being made at a farm location. As the actors plot, Holsteins graze in the background to lend a rural atmosphere. The sixteen yearling Holsteins were filmed at their home barn in Rutgers Gardens at the Cook College Agricultural Experimental Station in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
