People who live in a small town begin to act strangely when their water supply
is suddenly contaminated by an unknown toxin.

David (Timothy Olyphant) and Judy (Radha Mitchell) hide inside a barn containing
cows. After
the barn was checked for safety, the cows were placed inside the
barn and allowed to act naturally. The actors were instructed on handling the
cows before filming began.
The dog being walked on a leash in front of the medical building where Trudy
works was caught on film coincidentally.
Production provided documentation for the deer mounts that hang on the wall in a
store.
